The Eco-Pledge

All buyers are required to sign an eco-pledge, which will ensure the following conditions:

  • Once bought, this land cannot be sold without the prior approval of the Eco-committee*
  • Only eco-friendly products will be used in construction. Each plot will have a total built-up area of not more than 3500 sq.ft. (i.e. 1,750 sq.ft. on each level).
  • The plot cannot be divided into smaller plots and sold.
  • Buyers can only build ground floor plus one. All cottages will have a sloping roof with a provision for rainwater harvesting. Soil preservation and water harvesting methods will be adopted on each plot.
  • Sewage treatment pits for proper wastewater management built as specified by AVBC will have to be provided in each plot.
  • No trees, unless commercially grown, will be cut. The property is home to rare flora and fauna including the rare kurinji flower (blooms once in 12 years)  therefore, landscaping will have to be done with care
  • The plot cannot be sold to timeshare companies or others who want to use the area for commercial purposes such as hotels, spas, etc.
  • Only eco-friendly cars with the required emission approvals are allowed into the EcoVillage. Two-wheelers without silencer cones will not be allowed.
  • All owners will perform 48 hours of community service each year. (This could take the form of helping out in village projects like planting shola trees, etc. or paying Rs.500/- per year towards afforestation).
  • No thin plastic will be used in the village.  Garbage will be segregated and all non-biodegradable garbage will be disposed in the specified manner only.

* The Eco-committee is an association formed by the promoters and owners of the property.
